Biography
Sheila Hudson, founder of Bright Ideas, is a free-lance writer and speaker. She has contributed stories to eight of the “Chocolate for Women” series and to the anthologies: The Book of Hope, God Allows U-Turns, Love Stories – Volume I and II, and The Expressive Heart series. In 2004, Sheila’s essays will appear as part of the Egg on Face collection and Nights and Weekends anthology.
As a correspondent to the Athens Banner Herald, Sheila writes the monthly “Sunday Drive” column. She is also a regular contributor to the Athens Magazine, The Christian Standard and Lookout Magazines, providing profiles, features, essays, humor, how-to and travel articles. Sheila has won awards for her non-fiction, humor, personal narratives and children’s picture books.
Married to Tim Hudson since 1968, they are the parents of two daughters and grandparents of five grandsons. They have served as campus ministers at the University of Georgia’s Christian Campus Fellowship (CCF) since 1982.
Each year Sheila speaks to women’s banquets, retreats, and workshops on mentoring, parenting, servanthood, and inspirational and/or creative writing. She continues to work part time at UGA, assist at CCF, as well as pursue her writing and speaking ministry.
Sheila continues participation on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Writers Association and is serving as President for the 2004-2005 term.
